Last Mile plans the connections between people and opportunity

A good urban environment is the result of planning decisions: where the street runs, how much shade falls on the sidewalk, whether there is somewhere to sit, how safe it feels to ride a bike, and how efficient and reliable the bus service is.

We started LAST MILE because we are fans of the urban realm, of the opportunities it holds and of the connections it creates. We come to work to deliver quality of life in cities that are built around people.

What we do

Transport planning

Advancing and planning transport networks that give people a real range of convenient ways to move, with the emphasis on walking, cycling and greater use of public transport.

Urban planning

Planning cities and neighbourhoods, and accompanying statutory and strategic planning. Advancing the city as an active space that serves residents and visitors alike.

Public transport planning

Advancing mass transit systems and planning data-driven transit networks that adapt to changing needs, improving how the network performs and drawing more riders onto it.

Transport models and simulation

Building, applying and analysing transport models and simulations as a tool for shaping policy and testing transport changes before they are made.

Strategic planning

Shaping spatial vision and policy and preparing master plans for local authorities, including the tools and the solutions to implement them over different time horizons.

Temporary traffic management

Infrastructure works are part of the routine. We fit the planning to a changing reality so projects can move forward with minimum disruption to residents.

Project management

Leading transport and urban projects from vision, through planning, to execution. Coordinating many parties while staying in the detail, so delivery holds its quality and its schedule.

Road safety

Planning safe transport infrastructure and advancing Vision Zero. Mapping the risk points and treating them, to create safer cities and to make walking and cycling a real option.

Data, information systems and GIS

Analysing and presenting large datasets and geographic information so that spatial information becomes readable, and planning decisions rest on practical tools.

Operational planning

Planning the public transport service itself: timetables, terminals, service programmes, and the economic analysis of what it takes to operate the lines.

The people behind Last Mile

Our team is made up of urban planners, data specialists and engineers who believe that a good public realm shapes everyone's life.

Our clients

Recent projects we worked on:

Temporary traffic management

Temporary arrangements, Green Line

Building the Green light rail line in Tel Aviv changed the street for years. In the meantime, the public still has to move. Last Mile supported the municipality and the national urban transport authority in planning and applying the temporary arrangements along the route, with the emphasis on keeping businesses reachable, public transport running, and pedestrians safe at every stage of construction.
Urban planning

From pavement to street, Jerusalem municipality

Jerusalem is full of streets that grew without planning: pavements that turned into parking, roads that swallowed public space, and crossings nobody ever designed. Last Mile worked with the Jerusalem municipality to identify and classify these situations, and to put together concrete recommendations for returning traffic space to the uses it belongs to.
Public transport planning

Holon municipality, Histadrut bus lane

Bus priority lanes are one of the most effective tools for improving bus travel times without adding new infrastructure. In Holon, Last Mile examined the potential for bus lanes along the Histadrut corridor, including traffic load analysis, impact assessment, and implementation planning that balances competing travel needs.
Public transport planning

Growing ridership on the Red Line

The Red light rail line is running. The question now is how to bring more riders onto it. Last Mile examined the factors that shape ridership on the line, from station locations to connections with other public transport, and put together practical recommendations for increasing use.
